What to do with surplus drone gear?

Charity Donations

Drone technology is marching on, and drones, cameras, drone systems quickly become redundant.

Should I sell my surplus drone gear?

Depending on where you are in the world, charitable donations may or may not be tax-deductible, check with your tax advisor.

Some may argue that when you sell redundant gear, drone operating competitors might benefit and then compete with you on drone assignments, however, new drone gear will make you more capable and you'll be able to offer more specialisation. You'll need to consider whether having the latest tech will expand your business capability, whether older technology will hinder growth; all that depends on your business vision, risks and goals.

Kudos

A number of drone companies mention their charitable donations in website marketing, and may get more customer assignments as a result.

Who should I donate to?
